The building will be a regional center for expanded EKU classes and programs as well as space for GED classes, community education opportunities and community meeting rooms. The 48,000 square foot structure will consist of three floors housing a computer lab, science labs, numerous lecture and classrooms, 5 ITV rooms, offices, bookstore, and a nearly 5,000 square foot meeting/multi-purpose space. Construction is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2009. This structure will enable the expansion of numerous post secondary and lifelong learning possibilities for the citizens of Clay County and the entire region.

Manchester Ground Breaking, October 17, 2007

A significant milestone for EKU and Clay County occurred on Wednesday, October 17, 2007. The ground breaking for the new EKU Manchester Campus structure was held approximately ½ mile from the current location. Roughly 250 people attended the event including numerous EKU Administrators and staff, state and local officials and local citizens. Remarks were given by EKU Manchester Director Terry Gray, EKU professor of Sociology Aaron Thompson, EKU President Doug Whitlock, State Representative (90th) Tim Couch, State Senator (25th) Robert Stivers, and Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher.
